Marilyn Ekstedt

Marilyn Yvonne Ekstedt, age 88, of Hilliard, passed away March 23, 2025. Marilyn was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend who will be greatly missed by all those whose lives she touched. Preceded in death by parents Martha and Dewey Hornsby, husband Richard Ekstedt, son-in-law Mark Rife, brothers Shelby and Dewey (Arveda) Hornsby, sister Lucille Wade, sister and brother-in-law Shirley and Paul Putnik and grandson Alex Ekstedt. Survived by children Leslie Rife, Sara (Joe) Brunetti and Craig (Rebecca Goans) Ekstedt, grandchildren Emily (Jake) Finchum, Scott Rife, Sophia, Joey, Isabella and Ava Brunetti, great grandchildren Evelyn and Rose Finchum, brother-in-law Leroy Wade, sister-in-law Georgene Hornsby, many loving relatives and friends. Following Marilyn’s wishes cremation has taken place and a celebration of life will follow. Private family inurnment will be at Washington Park East Cemetery, Indianapolis, IN. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Kobacker House.
