Marjorie Shoemaker, passed away on August 26, 2014. She was born on August 8, 1933, to Franklin and Marjorie Patterson in Cleveland, Ohio. She received her Bachelor's and Master's degrees from Bowling Green State University and her PhD from Syracuse University. After teaching public school for ten years she served on the education faculty at Heidelberg College and Bowling Green State University. When she moved to California she left teaching and became a National Consultant for Macmillan Educational Publishers. Upon returning to Ohio she served as Senior Curriculum Editor for Zaner-Bloser Educational Publishers. She was preceded in death by her parents and by spouses Robert Shoemaker and Robert Martin. She is survived by her two children, Stephanie (Jeffrey) Veith and Timothy (Allison) Shoemaker; four grandchildren, Sara (Parke) Corbin, Sean Veith, Katie Veith and Dylan Shoemaker. There will be a visitation Sunday 2-4 p.m. at TIDD FUNERAL HOME, 5265 Norwich St., Hilliard, Ohio 43026. Burial will be private at Knollwood Cemetery in Beechwood, Ohio.
