Marjorie J. Weeks

Marjorie J. Weeks (96), of Columbus, OH passed away on Friday, June 30, 2023.  Marjorie was born in Highland County, OH on August 24, 1926 to Surrency and Mary (Current) Walker.  She is survived by her daughters, Karen (Harley) Perkins and Anita Weeks; her grandsons, Jonathan and Justin Perkins; her sister, Rosemary (Jesse) Whited and her brother, Robert (Margaret) Walker.  Marjorie was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Raymond John Weeks and her siblings, Roberta Walker, Vernon Walker, David Walker, Rita Gorman and Helen Brunner.

Marjorie graduated from Greenfield McClain High School, the class of 1944.  She was a lady of faith, an active member at the Hilliard Church of Christ where she served and participated from the nursery to the “Young at Heart.”  She made music along with a special music group called “The Old-Timers.”  She was also a full member of the Buckeye Belles in the Red Hat Society.  Marjorie was a lady with many interests.  She taught herself how to play the piano and organ.  She enjoyed collecting recipes and cooking many of them.  She was a talented seamstress, sewing clothes for her children.  She was a coupon cutter and maximized on many rebate opportunities.  She also enjoyed embroidery and had an angel collection.  Even though she never acquired a driver’s license, she actively traveled in many short adventures with those she loved.    She loved bright colors and all things sparkling.

The family will receive friends for a visitation and funeral for Marjorie at the Hilliard Church of Christ,  4300 Avery Road in Hilliard, OH.  There will be a visitation on Thursday, July 6th from 5:00 -7:00 PM.  Then, on Friday, July 7th, there will be another visitation from 10:00-11:00 AM with a funeral following at 11:00 AM.  Marjorie will be laid to rest at the Wesley Chapel Cemetery following the service.
