Martha Hayhurst

Martha Ann Hayhurst was born to Joseph and Josephine Czaplinski Milanowski on March 3, 1922 in Hazelton, Pennsylvania. Her husband Edward and she were long-time residents of Hilliard, Ohio where they raised a large family and were charter members of Resurrection Evangelical Lutheran Church. Martha was well-known as an Avon sales representative and for her community and church activities. After retiring to Venice, Florida, she filled her days writing, sending an untold number of cards to family and friends, and caring for the elderly. Known for her counsel “take the Lord with you”, she was a woman of great faith rooted in God’s powerful love. She entered into her eternal rest on September 15, 2017, at the age of 95.
Predeceased by her husband Edward and son Robert, Martha is survived by children Carol (Venice, FL), Linda (Westerville, OH), Tom and wife Peggy (Placerville, CA), Jane (Hilliard, OH), Steve and wife Nancy (Tempe, AZ), John (Nicholasville, KY), and Jim and wife Lisa (Oviedo, FL). She is also survived by 16 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, and 5 great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held at Tidd Funeral Home, 5265 Norwich St., Hilliard on Thursday,September 21 from 2:00 – 4:00 and 6:00 – 8:00. A funeral service in memory of Martha will be held on Friday, September 22 at 11:00 at Resurrection Evangelical Lutheran Church, 3500 Main St., Hilliard, with visitation one hour prior to the time of service. Interment will follow at Wesley Chapel Cemetery, 3225 Dublin Rd., Hilliard. Those who desire may make memorial donations in memory of Martha to Resurrection Evangelical Lutheran Church.
