Mary Conklin

Mary Kathryn Slyh Conklin, age 91, born September 3, 1922, died Saturday, February 8, 2014 at Edgewater Place, Plain City, OH where she was the second resident. Longtime resident of Hilliard, OH community. Beloved wife of H. Kelly Conklin. Registered nurse, 1943 graduate of Mt. Carmel Hospital School of Nursing, 1940 graduate of Canaan High School, Riverside Methodist Hospital volunteer with 5000 hours of service. Preceded in death by loving husband of 63 years, H. Kelly Conklin; parents, Dorothy and Fred Slyh; sister, Betty (Slyh) Kelly; brother, William Slyh. Survived by daughter, Constance "Connie" Conklin (Douglas) Weakley of Plain City; sons, Dr. Ronald Kelly (Judy) Conklin of Grove City and Dean Henry Conklin of Denver, CO; granddaughters Carrie (Dr. Mark) Hickman and Kim (Jake) Beathard; grandsons, Kelly (Lyndsie) Weakley, Dr. Kevin Weakley, Kyle (Sunday) Weakley and Kent (Emily) Weakley; great grandchildren, Joey, Jack and Callie Hickman, Daniel Beathard, Josh, Jacob, Maria, Truman, and Teddy Weakley; also survived by many relatives including Barbara (Bill) Brake, Nancy Conklin, and Eunice Slyh; nieces, nephews, and a life full of dear friends. Thank you to the staff and residents of Edgewater Place and Heartland Hospice for their excellent care and overwhelming love for the whole family. Mary, our "Guiding Light," brightened every day with her smile and loving ways. Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, February 11, 2014 at the TIDD FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 5265 Norwich St. in Hilliard, OH. Dr. Harold Davidson officiating. Interment will follow at Wesley Chapel Cemetery. Family will receive friends 4 to 7 p.m. on Monday, February 10, 2014 and one hour prior to the Service on Tuesday.
