Mary Mertz-Williams

Mary Elizabeth Mertz-Williams, born July 16, 1917 in Springfield, OH to Charles and Lola Drum, passed away March 4, 2012. Graduated in 1938 from Mercy Hospital as an RN; where she worked for 50 years. She was assistant administrator at Lutheran Senior City and taught nursing at Children’s Hospital, Columbus, OH. Preceded in death by her parents, husband John Mertz October 1982, second husband James Williams, daughters Marsha Knight and Dorothy Moore, son David Mertz, Sr., 4 great grandchildren, 3 sisters and 1 brother. Survived by daughter JoAnn Jackson of Columbus, son James (Ann) of Cincinnati, daughter-in-law Karen Mertz of Carroll, OH, sisters Christine Bard of Morrow, OH, Eilien Jacobs of St. Paris, OH and Imogene Pence of St. Paris, OH, sister-in-law Marilyn Littlejohn of Christinsburg, OH, 14 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren, 1 great great grandchild and many nieces and nephews. Family will receive friends 5-8 pm Wednesday at the TIDD FUNERAL HOME, 5265 Norwich St., Hilliard, OH 43026; where funeral service will be held 10 am Thursday. Interment Union Cemetery.
