Mary Irene Wolford

Mary Irene Wolford, age 81, of Galloway, Ohio, passed away Thursday, December 20, 2018.  Mary Irene was born in Kentucky to the late Eula Mae and Ralph Salmons.  Irene worked in retail most of her life.  She worked at Saxton Realty, Highlights for Children, Hallmark stores and furniture retail.  Irene loved working with and helping people.  She was an avid gardener and loved working in her yard and planting flowers.  She was also a great cook having won awards and ribbons at local fairs for her baked pies, cakes, candies and fudge.  Irene was a member of the First Baptist Church in West Jefferson.  She always loved the services and fellowship and the interactions of her church family and friends.  Irene was a devoted wife and mother and was always supportive and involved in her children’s and families’ lives.  She was a beautiful and special lady who was always upbeat and happy.  She will be deeply missed by her family and friends.  In addition to her parents, Irene was preceded in death by her loving husband John Wolford, son William McNamer, sister Muriel Campbell and brothers Ollie Salmons, Ben Salmons and Ralph Salmons, Jr.  She is survived by her children: Steve McNamer of Ocala, FL, David (Carmella) McNamer of Ocala, FL, Mary Ann (Jim) Starkey of Valrico, FL, step-children: Karen (Tom) Teter of Westerville, OH, John (Betty) Wolford of Galloway, Christine (Mark Neff) Wolford of Reynoldsburg, OH and James A. Wolford of Hilliard; daughter-in-law Liz McNamer of Hilliard; grandchildren: Michael McNamer, Lori Porter, Ehryn Kinzel, Danny McNamer, Chris Whittaker, Erik Whittaker, Carolreen Miller, Steven McNamer, II, and Carrie Saunders; step-grandchildren: Jimmy Miller, Nancy Hashman, Tim Wolford, John Wolford, Cassandra Wolford and Chrystal Wolford; several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; brothers: Billy Lynn Salmons of St. Augustine, FL and John Salmons of Columbus; and many loving nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.  Family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00p.m. FRIDAY at the TIDD FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 5265 Norwich Street, Hilliard, OH 43026 (614)-876-1722 where her Funeral Service will be held 10:00a.m. SATURDAY, DECEMBER 29, 2018.  Burial will follow at Alton Cemetery, Galloway, OH.  Please share your favorite memory of Mary Irene on this website or send your condolences to her family.
