Dr. Michael Davis, 72, of Columbus, was called by the Lord Friday, February 10th, after a lengthy illness surrounded by his loving family. "Doc" as he was known by his friends served the people of Columbus for over forty years as a Chiropractor. His charitable efforts were well known collecting winter clothing and school supplies for underprivileged children while often treating patients at no charge. He was co-owner and developer of the popular Rush Creek Sports Bar and Grilles in North Columbus. Dr. Davis grew up in Daytona Beach, Florida where he was selected as the cities first Public Safety officer in 1973. He went on to pursue a medical career graduating Florida State University then attending Life Chiropractic College in Georgia. He is survived by his former wife Sharon, their daughters Lauren, Katelyn, and Anne, four grandchildren, sister Patricia and brother David. A private ceremony will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to St. Brendan's Catholic Church in Hilliard.
