Michael "Mick" McFarland

Michael Edward “Mick” McFarland, age 70, of Hilliard, passed away March 22, 2021. Graduate of Hilliards High School Class of 1968. US Army Veteran who served in Vietnam. He retired from Ashland Chemical. Mick wanted nothing more than to come home from Vietnam and live the proud life of an American serving the war-torn hills of Vietnam as an artillery solider. He was a proud grandfather of his grandson Jacob who thought of Mick as a father figure. Preceded in death by parents Andrew and Lillian McFarland, son Georgie, daughter Patricia, brother Jack, sisters Jeanne, Maryann, Nancy and Fran, nephew Shawn, great nephew Vinnie and niece Amy. Survived by loving wife of 27 years and lifelong friend Becky, daughter Jackie Collins, sisters Dottie, Linda, Phyllis and Bonnie (Matt), grandchildren Jacob, Jack and Robert, brothers and sisters in law David (Yvonne) Ward, Neils Ward, Mary Miller and Elizabeth (James) Quarandillo, several nieces, nephews and a host of friends. Family will receive friends 10 am – 11 am Tuesday at the TIDD FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 5265 Norwich St., Hilliard, OH 43026; where funeral service will follow at 11 am. Interment Wesley Chapel Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Hilliard VFW Post #4931 in Mick’s name.
