Michael "Mike" Albert Gronbach, Sr.

March 5, 1953 — March 16, 2025

Michael “Mike” Albert Gronbach Sr., age 72, passed away peacefully on March 16, 2025, surrounded by family & loved ones.

Born in 1953 in Columbus, Ohio, Mike was a resident of Hilliard for most of his life and served his country in the U.S. Army. Mike was a patriot and we are forever thankful for his unselfish service to this great Nation.

Mike married Connie Adams in 2012. Together, they built a life filled with love, laughter, always by each other’s side.

Mike was a Supervisor with the City of Hilliard for nearly 30 years, where he was known for his ornery sense of humor.

Outside of work, Mike’s main hobbies included being a loyal fan of the Ohio State Buckeyes, Cincinnati Bengals, NASCAR, and a passionate animal lover.

Mike was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. Mike’s biggest smiles were always found in the presence of family or a laugh over the telephone when talking with family, sibling or close friend. Mike & Connie enjoyed spending time with their family, where many fond memories were created.

Mike is survived by his devoted wife of 13 years, Connie (Adams) Gronbach, his brother Gordon Gronbach Jr. (Kathy), his sister Lavina Vance (Terry), his son Michael Gronbach Jr. (Shanda), his daughter Amy Haggard (Sean), stepchildren David (Amy) Adams, Amanda (Bill) Talbot, Danny (Shannon) Adams, Mary (Andy) King, grandchildren Michael, Austin, Storm & Gague Gronbach, Connor & Liam Haggard, Jacob & Hannah Adams, Saraya & Billy Talbot, Wesley & Wyatt Adams, Tyler & Austin King, several great-grandchildren, and family friend Debbie Garman. Mike is preceded in death by his parents, Gordon W. and Trela N. Gronbach.

Mike’s presence will be profoundly missed, but the memories of his love, humor, and strength will forever remain in the hearts of those he touched. May Mike rest in peace, knowing that his legacy lives on through the lives he so deeply impacted.

A Celebration of Life will be held in the coming months to celebrate Mike’s life & legacy; details will be announced at a later date. United States Army Honors will be provided at Mike’s gravesite.

The family expresses their deep gratitude to the Fairfield Medical Center (Hospice Unit) for their outstanding support & care, and to the Tidd Family Funeral Home, 5265 Norwich Street, Hilliard, OH 43026 (614)-876-1722, for their kind assistance.
