Michael Joseph Mohr, Jr.
September 12, 1978 --- August 5, 2021
My name is Michael Joseph Mohr (named after my dear OL dad) and I’m assuming my time on this earth is up because on August 5, 2021, I was off to new adventures at a different place. My first clue: I was seeing the Schwartz’s Maxine, BumBum & Papa Dick. Also there were Loretta & Louis Mohr, these are all my deceased grandparents.
I was born September 12, 1978 (do the math) I’m only 42. Seems young to me leaving this earth and my loved ones but, this is your reminder that every day is a gift and life on earth is precious. My wonderful hard working parents, Michael J and Robin S. Mohr were the best parents, so involved with my brother’s and my events, sports and supportive of everything we did.
I enjoyed playing baseball & football, reffing for OHSAA and umping for the Rec Department. Preparing ball fields for the Rec Department, delivering pizzas and working at Cedar Point were a few of my first jobs. I loved playing football in grades 7-12 for Fremont Ross High School, graduating in 1996. I went to Terra State and earned an Associate’s Degree after that.
I’ve lived in Oregon, Fremont, Toledo, Maumee, Dublin and ended up in Hilliard with my family. Previously I worked for Chase, Connect Solutions and currently was working at Robert Half (Honda) as an Information Technologist Manager.
I looked forward to our many beach vacations. I enjoyed my family’s Disney trip and when I was younger the many many camping trips. My favorite past time is poker and magic.
My little brother, Bradley J. Mohr and I had a special bond. We loved going to and talking about sports. My favorites, you ask? Columbus Clippers, Columbus Crew, Columbus Blue Jackets. We would talk Indians and Browns, our favorites, but always, playfully, discussing the rivalry of my Ohio State Buckeyes and Brad’s Michigan Wolverines
October 19, 2002 was one of the happiest day of my life, I married Stephanie (Troyan) and will miss her dearly. Let me tell you about my pride and joy, my kids. Alexis is 20, she will be a junior at The Ohio State University, she has her mind set to become a Lawyer, and I’m sure she will, no doubt. I couldn’t be more proud. And Joshua “Jish” , he is 14, he will be a freshman at Hilliard Darby High School. He loves playing and watching sports, can’t tell you who he inherited that from. He is also enjoys gaming and hanging out with his friends, typical teenager. I hope Stephanie can keep up with both of them, I’m sure she will. I will be watching over both you and your accomplishments and continue being your PROUD dad.
My family will celebrate my life with you at a later time.
Even though it may have been short, I enjoyed sharing my life with you.
For now, it’s been great catching up, but I see an empty seat at a poker table.
