Nacoma June Poling Cummings, age 89, passed away on Wednesday, March 26, 2008 at The Sanctuary at Tuttle Crossing, Dublin, OH. Nacoma was born on September 17, 1918, to the late John and Hazel Poling of Bartlett, OH. She is preceded in death by her husband, Herman (Speed), sisters, Callie Goddard and Isabelle Graham, and brothers, Dale and Kendall Poling. She is survived by her sons, Michael (Carole) and Norman (Grace) Cummings, granddaughters, Kimberly (Marc) Wood, Rebecca and Erin Cummings, sister, Jane (Edward) Canfield, brother-in-law, Dayton Goddard, sister-in-law, Ruth Poling, numerous nieces, nephews, and cherished friends from “home”. Her constant expression of love and her indomitable spirit will be sadly missed by family and friends. Nacoma formerly worked as secretary to the superintendent of Washington County Schools. She later became the first treasurer of the Washington County Joint Vocational School for thirteen years until her retirement. Nacoma was a member of the Marietta Chapter #59 of the Order of the Eastern Star. She was formerly a member of the Putnam United Methodist Church in Marietta. A Celebration of Life service will be held at a later date in Marietta. Arrangements are being completed by The Tidd Funeral Home in Hilliard, OH.
