Nancy Ann Vowell (Thomas), August 16, 1940- September 19, 2012 Nancy Ann Vowell (Thomas) began her eternal life after a long courageous battle with Multiple Myeloma. Nancy was a Registered Nurse, who spent many years working hard to bring comfort and healing to others. During her career, she worked in the ER, ICU, QA; while her last job was at Regency Manor as Assistant Director of Nursing. Nancy was famous among friends and relatives for her tremendous cooking skills, especially for her delicious pies. Also revered as “The Pie Lady” at the James Cancer Hospital, Nancy proudly served as a member of the Patient Advisory Committee. She was a member of St Brigid of Kildare Catholic Church and graduated from Dublin High school. She was daughter of the late William and Dorothy Thomas. She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Jim Vowell; daughter, Julie McGonigle; sons, Joe (Diana) Vowell and Mike (Cathy) Vowell. Nancy and Jim have 8 grandchildren, and 7 great-grandchildren. Also survived by siblings, Donna (Larry) Crane; Bonnie (George) Nichols; Bill (Linda) Thomas and Bob (Janell) Thomas; many nieces, nephews and cousins. Nancy was a very loving person, and was in return, was adored by everyone who’d ever met her. We would like to thank our ‘family” at the James, for their unending support of Nancy’s battle with cancer, especially Giselle, Megan and her greatest supporter, Dr Don Benson. Mass of Christian burial will be held 10 am Saturday at St. Brigid of Kildare, 7179 Avery Rd., Dublin, OH 43016. Interment Dublin Cemetery.
