Neil L. Stanfield, age 86, of Hilliard, Ohio, passed away Friday, June 10, 2016 at Victory Ridge, Dayton VA Medical Center in Dayton, Ohio. Born in Findlay, Ohio, he was a graduate of Columbus West High School, Class of 1948 and a graduate of The Ohio State University where he received his Electrical Engineering degree. Neil was a veteran of the United States Army who served in the KMAG Unit during the Korean War. He was a life-long employee of Columbus & Southern Ohio Electric Company (AEP) before his retirement in 1992. Neil was a Past Commander of American Legion Post #614, Hilliard, Ohio and was a former Scout Master of Troop #148. He was also a former Special Duty Hilliard police officer. Neil and his late wife Iris, were long-time members of Hilliard United Methodist Church where he served as a former Sunday School teacher. Preceded in death by his wife Iris, who passed in 2002, he is survived by his children: David (Noi) Stanfield of Hilliard; Jean (Jacki) Stanfield of DeGraff, Ohio; and Shelly (Randy) Roy of Powell, Ohio; 9 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
