Norma Jean Revel, age 85 of Hilliard, passed away Saturday Feb 16, 2013.
She was born to the late Raymond & Esther Spangler April 17, 1927.Norma grew up and graduated High School in the Darbydale area of Madison County.
After High School she worked for Ohio State Life Insurance until her retirement.
In life, Norma raised her only son, the late William R. “Bill” Kensler
She is also preceded in death by her 2nd husband John C. Revel, a WWII US Navy Veteran from KY. Norma & John were involved with The Carolinas LST Association, where she made many lifelong friends. Norma spent the last 35 years of her life in retirement and enjoying life in her favorite vacation spot Myrtle Beach, SC where she resided until recently. 35 years in Myrtle Beach were filled with walking the beach, including many hours searching for shark teeth with her grandson, crab fishing, entertaining with friends, gardening & cooking. Norma & John also loved to travel, visiting many places that others only dream about. Once Norma had great grandchildren she wanted to be known as GG, short for Great-Grandma. GG loved to sew and made her little girls some of their favorite PJ's and every visit included a Gingerbread house to be made. Norma is survived by her only grandson Todd (Michelle) Kensler of Hilliard and their 3 children Hayley, Olivia and Karnie. Also by many close friends, including Danny & Sharon Smith of Myrtle Beach, SC. and most recently Melinda Sue Cochrun of Galloway.GG will be missed by all, the sweetest little old lady with an infectious laugh who claimed to be 5ft tall....sorry GG you were only 4ft 11. Family will receive friends Friday from 10am-11am at THE TIDD FUNERAL HOME 5265 Norwich St. Hilliard, OH 43026 where a service will follow at 11am. A private burial will be held at Sunset Cemetery.
