Norma May Schumacher

Norma May Schumacher, age 91, of Hilliard, OH, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, January 16, 2022. She was born September 26, 1930 in Buffalo, NY. Norma is survived by her loving husband of 68 years, Charles B, Schumacher, Jr; sister Barbara Hughes; daughter Gail Schumacher; daughter Andrea (James) Bott; son Robert (Angie) Schumacher; daughter Anne (William) Smith; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren; and niece and nephew. She was preceded in death by her parents Anna and Anthony Schreiber; son Charles B. Schumacher, III; brother-in-law John Hughes. Norma was a loving wife, mom, grandma, aunt and great-grandma. She loved spending time with her family and was a great listener who was gifted with practical wisdom and would find the positive in every situation. She was a strong woman, without complaints, who consistently put others before herself. She was generous inside and outside of the family, supporting many charities, most recently crocheting bed mats for the homeless. Upon the death of her son, Chuck, she took over his love of orchids and nurtured his plants to carry on his memory. Following 15 years of employment at the Upper Arlington Public Library, Norma assumed responsibility for the library at Stone Oak Retirement Community in Hilliard, Ohio.
