Orrin H. Buckley, son of the late Thomas and Georgie Buckley, passed away unexpectedly on April 1, 2025, at the age of 92. Orrin is preceded in death by his daughter, Deborah; brothers Richard (Jean), Thomas and Madison, and sisters Betty Buckley, Virginia Hawthorne (Carl) and Georgia Baer (Bob). He is survived by the love of his life, soulmate and loving wife, Clara. They would have been married 75 years in December. Also survived by his daughter, Sheryl, Grandchildren Roger Vanover (Veronica), Randy Vanover (Ann), and Kristina Jones (Shannon) and Great Grandchildren, Madison Vanover and Ross Vanover.
Orrin retired from the Columbus Showcase Company where he worked as an engineer/draftsman, designing showcases for retail stores and pharmacies. After retirement, Orrin became a successful realtor with Coldwell Banker, while enjoying his hobbies of woodworking, golfing, and making custom golf clubs.
Orrin was a man of great faith, raising his family at Linden Lutheran Church where he was a teacher, choir member and soloist. He and Clara, along with daughter Sheryl, more recently became members of All Saints Lutheran Church in Worthington, OH.
Orrin will be remembered for his beautiful smile. He didn’t know a stranger and would strike up a conversation with everyone he met. He enjoyed music and loved to sing. He was a hardworking man while being kindhearted and gentle. His laugh was infectious. He will be greatly missed by his daughter and extended family. He and Clara were a shining example of unconditional love.
Tidd Funeral Home in Hilliard, OH is handling funeral arrangements, with interment at Kingwood Memorial Gardens. A memorial service will be held on a later date which will be announced on the Tidd Funeral Home Website.
