Rev. Orville D. Cruea, 82, of Columbus, passed away Thursday, September 11 surrounded by his family. Orville served his country in the Air Force from 1951-55 and was stationed in Frankfurt, Germany. While in Germany, he met his wife, Millie. They celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary on September 8.
After leaving the Air Force, Orville worked for Hobart Manufacturing in Troy, Ohio before entering the ministry to serve the Lord. Orville was pastor at Tremont City UMC and Bowlesville UMC before serving at St. Mark's UMC in Columbus and Fairborn UMC.
Surviving are his wife, Millie, daughter, Lynn (Bruce) Kerr, Son, Mark (Susan) Cruea, and grandchildren, Jennifer (Jimmy) Holstein, Matthew and Emily Kerr, and Rachel and Connor Cruea. Orville also has two great grandchildren, Taylor and Carter Holstein.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, September 14 from 1:00-3:30 with a Celebration of Life service following at 3:30 at Riverside UMC, 2701 Zollinger Rd., Columbus.
