Patricia A. Gloeckner

Patricia Glenn (Alder) Gloeckner was born August 26, 1927, in Hilliard Ohio. She passed with dignity and in peace at Kobacker House Sunday May 12, 2024, with family at her side.  She was preceded in death by her parents Clay J. Alder and Thelma M.  (Wood) Alder, her beloved husband of 72 years Charles R. Gloeckner and sister Nan Holland. She is survived by sister Theresa Montgomery; her loving children Vickie Gloeckner, Clay Gloeckner, and Bob (Becky) Gloeckner; grandchildren Jonathan (Jennifer) Gloeckner, Ashley (John Woosley) Gloeckner, Jake (Amber) Wells, Dee (Bill) Kesselring, Grant (Renata) Weaver; great-grandchildren Alexis Allen, Hudson and Lydia Gloeckner, Kendall and Hayden Wells, Emerson, Aurora and Howard Weaver; twin great-great grandsons DJ and Kam Allen; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Patty, a direct descendent of Jonathan Alder, graduated from Hilliard High School in 1945. She was a member of the Resurrection Lutheran Church, a long-standing member of the Order of the Eastern Stars and a 71-year member of American Legion Auxiliary Unit 614. Patty and Chuck enjoyed many years of boating on Lake Erie and entertaining in their vacation home on Catawba Island. They both loved vacationing anywhere that was near large bodies of water…ocean cruises, Florida, Myrtle Beach, Hawaii, Mexico and the Oregon Coast. Patty had an infectious laugh, a wicked sense of humor, was known for telling jokes and funny stories and on occasion messing up the punch line. She had a big heart, generous spirit and was always ready with a hug. She was a great cook especially her pot pie, chicken and noodles and chocolate pie! Patty loved playing cards and games, dancing with Chuck to Big Band music and was an avid fan of men and women Buckeye sports and TBDBITL. But her favorite activity was doing anything with her family. In lieu of flowers, Patty requested donations be made to the American Cancer Society or Resurrection Lutheran Church. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 21, 2024 from 4-6 PM, at the TIDD FUNERAL HOME, 5265 Norwich St., Hilliard, OH 43026; where memorial service will follow at 6 PM. Private burial at Wesley Chapel will occur later in the summer.
