Patricia J. Kennis

Patricia “Patty” Kennis, age 88, of Hilliard, Ohio, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, October 18, 2024, surrounded by family at Riverside Methodist Hospital.

Patty was born in Huntington, WV to Woodrow and Frances Watts Browning.  She and her sister Bunny grew up in Huntington and in 1952 moved to Columbus, Ohio, where they attended Central High School. Shortly thereafter she met and married her  beloved husband Frank. One of the highlights of their beginning, was their  engagement dinner at a nightclub in Columbus, where Nat King Cole came to their table and sang “Too Young” to them ~ that's a story she never got tired of telling!

She was a devoted wife, mother to four daughters and grandmother of many.  She loved having all the kids and their families together to celebrate the holidays. She was a working "stay at home" mom - babysitting, taking in ironing and sewing - until the kids got out of school, she then worked at Protomold in Hilliard and retired from Riverside Methodist Hospital, medical records.

She was a faithful servant of the Lord and long-time member of the Hilliard Church of Christ ~ where she brought Frank to Christ. They were active in many of the church programs and fellowship. They hosted numerous Bible studies in their home and truly enjoyed the Young At Heart group, Round Lake Revivals and helping with the HCC Vacation Bible School activities.  She especially loved crocheting blankets for all the newborn babies. She loved to read, go thrifting with her sister Bunny, the many Dale Hollow boating vacations with all the family, her and Frank's traveling via train to the Grand Canyon and especially their two trips to Hawaii!

She is our resolve ~ we always knew she was praying for us through our trials. She is deeply missed and forever loved.  

She is survived by Frank, her loving husband of 71 years; daughters Margie (Tim) Baker, Lisa (Mark) Ridings, Christa (Justin) Juenger; sister Frances “Bunny” (Louie) Eastman; grandchildren Greg (Tracy) Miller, Sarah (Brian) Petereit, Amber Pascol, Mason (Ciara) Juenger, Ella Juenger, Silas Juenger, Justin (Tasha) Ridings; great grandchildren Tyler (Madeline) Pascol, Jordan (Holley) Gilliland, Brooklyn Miller, Jaden Miller, Hunter Leonard, Brayden Leonard, Aliyah Love, Skyler Pascol, Barrett Petereit, Mia Juenger, Bechler and Penelope Ridings; great great granddaughter Louella Leonard; nephew Frank (Chrissy) Eastman and a host of dear friends and church family.

Preceded in death by her parents; daughter Tara Pascol, son-in-law Steve Pascol, granddaughter Amanda Love, great grandson Elijah Love and nephews Jason, Jamie and Eric Eastman.  

A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, October 29th at 3pm at the Hilliard Church of Christ, 4300 Avery Road, Hilliard, Ohio 43026. Officiated by Pastor Danny Vanscoy. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in Patty's name to the Hilliard Church of Christ or a favorite charity.
