Patricia Baril Peterson (87) passed away peacefully on January 18 with her husband by her side
in their home at First Community Village, Columbus, OH. Pat, born on July 1, 1936, in the
charming town of Willimantic, CT, began her life's journey as the daughter of Arthur and Loretta
Baril. Little did she know that her path would lead to a remarkable 66-year marriage with the
love of her life, Robert.
The serendipity of love found her on a blind date at UConn, where she and Robert embarked on
a journey filled with shared joys and enduring companionship. Patricia's commitment to family
was unwavering, guided by a deep faith that shaped her character and touched the lives of
those around her. Her devotion extended to her children, Rob Peterson (Kim Ferguson) and
Margot (Bob) Sheehan, who carry her legacy forward.
Patricia's nurturing spirit and steadfast Catholic faith were evident in the love she bestowed
upon her grandchildren, Erin and Kendra Sheehan, creating a bond that transcends
generations. Pat enjoyed her retirement in Columbus, relishing the opportunity to actively
engage in the lives of her beloved grandchildren.
As we say goodbye to Patricia, let us remember the love she gave, the joy she shared, and the
profound impact of her deep faith on the hearts of all who were touched by her presence. May
her memory bring solace and comfort during this time of reflection and mourning.
A funeral mass to honor her life will be held on Monday, January 22 at 10am at St. Margaret of
Cortona (1600 N Hague Ave, Columbus, OH). The family will greet friends and family following
the mass.
Patricia’s family would like to sincerely thank the nurses, aides & hospice staff who provided
compassionate care at the end of her life.
