Paul John Harshbarger

Paul John Harshbarger, age 67, of Hilliard, Ohio, died at home peacefully in his sleep on Thursday, June 15, 2023. His death was preceded by his father Robert Harshbarger and his mother Mary Harshbarger. He is survived by his wife of 27 years, Diane Harshbarger, his sons Robert and Sam (Jessica) Harshbarger, his daughter Rachel Harshbarger, his brothers Robert and Thomas (Susan) Harshbarger, his sister Rose Wiedenmann, his beloved grandchildren Micah and Audrey Harshbarger, as well as so many loving in-laws, nieces, nephews and friends. Paul was born on November 29, 1955 in Denver, Colorado. He moved to Columbus, Ohio in 1968, where he remained the rest of his life. He graduated from Whetstone High School in 1974 and received an Associate’s Degree in Computer Science from Bliss College in 1978. He worked as an IT Specialist at the Ohio Bureau of Worker’s Compensation for over 25 years. Paul was very social and loved talking to new people and cracking jokes. He valued his family and his spirituality above all else. He was always equipped with advice and wisdom for any situation. He had an amazingly strong work ethic and always made sure his family was taken care of. Paul was a faithful parishioner of St. Brendan the Navigator Catholic Church in Hilliard. The family would like to extend a thanks to the hospice team of National Church Residences Hospice for their massive support and sincere kindness. Thank you! The family will receive friends from 6:00p.m.-8:00p.m. WEDNESDAY at the TIDD FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 5265 Norwich Street, Hilliard, OH 43026 (614)-876-1722 where a Prayer Service will be held at 7:45p.m. His Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 2:00p.m. THURSDAY, JUNE 22, 2023 at ST. BRENDAN THE NAVIGATOR CATHOLIC CHURCH, 4475 Dublin Road, Hilliard, OH 43026 with Father Bob Penhallurick, Celebrant. Burial services will be held 11:00a.m. FRIDAY at Resurrection Cemetery, Lewis Center, OH. In lieu of flowers, please consider a memorial donation to the American Cancer Society in Paul’s memory.
