Paul "Shorty" E. Lewis passed away Wednesday, February 7, 2018 unexpectedly at Riverside Methodist Hospital. Paul was born March 19, 1950 in Columbus to the late Paul S & Dorothy M. Lewis. He graduated from Central HS in 1968. He worked at Buckeye Stamping for 28 years and currently employed by TriStar Transportation. Shorty's favorite passion was softball. He played with various teams over 21+ years. He played semi-pro softball for a short time. He continued his passion for the game by umpiring for 8 years. He was the first player to unanimously be inducted in the Columbus Slow-Pitch Softball Hall of Fame in 1997. 2010 he was recognized as a member of "All Decade Team of the 70's" . 2012 he was honored by USSSA Legends of the Game. 2014 he was inducted in the Ohio USSSA Softball Hall of Fame. He is survived by wife, Bernice, golden retrievers Willie & Maggie and sister Margaret (Jim) McMahan including several nieces and nephews and special friends John Fleeman, Larry Gerrod, Jerry King, Gay, Shelley and Mike Siebert. Preceded in death by parents, brother Bill "Howdy" Lewis, brother-in law Toby Tobias, sister-in-law Mona Lewis, and sister Nancy Frasure.
