Paula M. Hamilton

Paula "Polly" (Schnug) Hamilton, 96, of Upper Arlington, Ohio went to be with our Lord on December 9, 2024. She was born September 18, 1928 to the late William and Hazel Schnug.

Paula graduated from Hilliards High School in 1946, where she met Buzz Hamilton, her late husband of 73 years. She then graduated from The Ohio State University school of music in 1950, where she was an accompanist for many musical performances. After graduation, she taught High School Vocal Music and English in Ada, Ohio, before moving back to Columbus to marry and start a family. Her most successful career was that as a wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and homemaker.

Paula was a member of Covenant Presbyterian Church in Upper Arlington, where she taught Bible studies and volunteered wherever needed. She was a loyal OSU Buckeye and Cincinnati Reds fan, along with being a sports trivia expert. She enjoyed cooking and baking for her family, friends and neighbors. Her apple pie was everyone's favorite.

Paula will be remembered for how she made people feel. Her kind, witty, caring and welcoming demeanor put people at ease, which made her an instant favorite with all who met her. Her genuine concern for others was one of her greatest gifts.

Paula loved her family. Her most treasured moments were spent with those she loved. She was always present at school activities, sporting events, pre-school programs, choir concerts and the county fair. Babysitting her grandchildren, Thanksgivings in Florida, Birthday celebrations and making Christmas time so very special, meant so much to her.

Paula was a devoted wife to Buzz, loving mother to her 2 daughters and sons-in-law, and she adored her 5 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.

She is survived by Daughter, Judy Davis of Columbus, OH; Daughter, Jill (Todd) Michael of Urbana, OH; Son-in-law, Joe (Carol) Davis of Dublin, OH; Grandchildren, Chelsea (Tom) Moseley of Kerrville, TX, Kyle Michael (Kate Bennett) of Urbana, OH, Chase Davis of Valencia, PA, Kathy (Drew) Sponheim of Urbana, OH and Colby (Joe) Lammers of Ft. Lauderdale, FL; Great Grandchildren, Davis Moseley, Sadie Sponheim, Quinn Lammers, Dax Moseley, Sydney Sponheim, Conrad Lammers and Anders Sponheim. Also, adopted with love, Scott and Shelle Bean, Alexa (Andrew) Martin (Jack and Grant) Andy (Sara) Bean; numerous nieces and nephews, and special neighbors, Dick and Sharon Sorensen, Josh and Christina Murphy, and Paul and Lesa Trapasso.

Paula was predeceased by her husband, Howard "Buzz" Hamilton, her parents, brothers Bill (Pat) Schnug and Joe Schnug.

Our family would like to thank Paula's caregivers; her daughter, Judy; Victoria; Nichole from Visiting Angels and Melissa, Riley, Megan and Father John from Summitt Hospice, for their loving compassionate care.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.
