Paula A. Wise, age 68, of Hilliard, Ohio, was peacefully welcomed into Heaven by her Lord on Saturday, March 4, 2023 at home while surrounded by her husband and daughter. Paula was born on November 12, 1954 in Youngstown, Ohio to the late Paul and Devona Young. Growing up on her parents’ farm fostered a deep love of animals that she carried with her for her entire life. After meeting her soon-to-be husband, Marc, at a church camp in the summer of 1973, Paula eventually moved to Columbus to be with Marc as he attended The Ohio State University. Paula and Marc would marry in 1975.  Paula would go on to retire from working as a secretary in the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry at Ohio State. Never one to sit still for long, she ran her own house cleaning business for many years after her retirement.  

Paula was an active member of Northwest Bible Church, spending her Thursday evenings with her tight knit prayer group, and attended her previous church, Northwest Chapel, for weekly women’s Bible studies. Paula’s faith in God and the saving grace that Jesus offers were pivotal to her life.  Paula loved warm, sunny weather, animals of all kinds (but particularly cats), spring flowers, old hymns, HGTV, a good sweet treat (especially from the Original Goodie Shop in Upper Arlington), the Ohio State Buckeyes, history, Destin, Florida, and making others laugh.

She is survived by her husband, Marc; daughter Stephanie (Justin) Campbell; sister Gayle (Bob) McCreary, along with her beloved cats Max and Mia, nephews, and many faithful friends.  Paula is preceded in death by her parents; brother Greg, and numerous loving aunts and uncles.

A private burial was held at Union Cemetery in Columbus, Ohio. Paula's Celebration of Life Service will be held 1:00p.m. SATURDAY, MARCH 25, 2023 at NORTHWEST BIBLE CHURCH, 6639 Scioto Darby Road, Hilliard, OH 43026.  This will be a casual event to come together, remeber Paula's life and fond memories, and to share some snacks together.
