Pauline Ann Rhoden Mollette Pettit passed away peacefully in Columbus Ohio on May 18th, 2016. She was born in Fullerton Kentucky on February 28, 1925, but grew up along with her seven brothers and sisters in the hills of Pike County and attended school there. She married Liss Mollette Jr. in 1941 and they were blessed with three sons. They soon moved to Central Ohio and she began her working career at Owens Illinois (Technaglass) retiring after 23 years. Pauline was a wonderful homemaker and cook and her fudge, pies and cakes were famous among her family and friends. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and aunt. She was a tireless caregiver to her parents and her siblings as they grew older. She also lovingly cared for her grandchildren. Pauline never missed the annual Rhoden Family Reunion that was started by her father over 80 years ago and within the last several years she had become the matriarch of the family, being her parent’s last living child. Pauline had a lovely singing voice and sang and yodeled at many public venues and on the radio in her younger years. She loved country music and enjoyed playing the guitar and mandolin. In recent years she resided at Hilltop Senior Village and Lincoln Lodge Assisted Living and had many opportunities to share her musical talent with her fellow residents. Pauline was preceded in death by her husband’s Liss Mollette, Jr. and Cliff Pettit, her parents Chester and Delsie Rhoden, granddaughter Tracy Mollette Smith, siblings Harold, Bob and Monte Rhoden, Elsie Lock, Irene Hager, Alice Rowland and Norma Kitchen. She will be greatly missed by her surviving sons and their wives, Jerry (Sandy Finney) Mollette, Danny (Susan Rigby) Mollette and Richard and Beverly Mollette all of Columbus. Her grandchildren, Todd Mollette, Danielle Rigby, Brian Mollette, Tim (Laura) Mollette, Scott (Cherie) Mollette, Rick (Carrie) Mollette, David (Paula) Gruber, Jeff (Dorie) Gruber all of Columbus and Ritchie Mollette of Tennessee, Nineteen great grandchildren and two great, great grandchildren. Pauline is also survived by her sister-in-law Lucille Mathews, brother-in-law James Kitchen and many nieces and nephews throughout Ohio and Tennessee. Funeral services are being handled by Tidd Funeral Home, 5265 Norwich St., Hilliard Ohio. Visitation will be on Saturday, May 21st from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM with funeral service to follow at Noon. A private graveside service will be held on Monday, May 23rd at 10:00 AM at Kingwood Memorial Park. The family would like to thank the staff of National Church Residences, Lincoln Lodge and Hospice staff for the outstanding care Pauline received while living in their facility.
