Porter E. Fullen, age 92 of Mt. Sterling, died Wednesday, February 3, 2010 with his family at his side in Odyssey House of Columbus. He was born Nov. 17, 1917 in Pickaway County. The son of the late Luther and Sarah (Shepard) Fullen.
Mr. Fullen was a retired from both an area farmer and Chillicothe Corrections. Member of Washington Court House VFW; served in the US Army during World War II.
He was preceded in death by loving wife of 42 years, Loretta Fullen; sisters Alice Smith and Mary Haller.
He is survived by daughters, Sarah “Sally” Fullen of Mt. Sterling, Judy (David) Thomas of London; 2 grandchildren, Patrick (Angela) Thomas and Sarah Thomas; great grandson, Hayden; sisters, Jeanne Pitt, Helen Badurina, Saralee Terflinger; brother, Tom Fullen; many nieces and nephews.
A Graveside service where all are welcomed to attend will be held 1:00 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 5, 2010 in Darbyville Cemetery. Rev. Ron Reynolds officiating with the Circleville Amvets Post #2256 performing a military service. There will be no public visitation. The family is being served by the PORTER-TIDD FUNERAL HOME, Mt. Sterling.
