Ralph H. "Bill" Hastings, Jr.

Ralph H. “Bill” Hastings, Jr., age 69, of Columbus, Ohio, passed away Thursday, December 8, 2016 at Riverside Hospital in Columbus. He was born in Hamilton, Ohio and was preceded in death by his parents Ralph H. Hastings, Sr. and J. Antoinette (Young) Hastings and by his brother Mark A. Hastings. Bill was a proud Vietnam Navy veteran who served on the USS Ticonderoga as a plane captain and was awarded the Purple Heart. He worked as a pipe-fitter/foreman for Tucker Bros. Construction, Sarasota, FL until he became permanently disabled as a result of an on-site accident. He was beloved husband and father and loved all animals owning many through his lifetime. He always had a dog by his side. Bill is survived by his wife of 24 years, Patricia (McKimmie) Hastings, his beloved daughter Kathryn Hastings, brother Bruce (Sherry) Hastings, sisters Jayne Rose and Mary Jean Hastings, loving nieces, nephews and an extended circle of family and friends. Family will receive friends from 5:30p.m.-7:30p.m. TUESDAY at the TIDD FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 5265 Norwich Street, Hilliard, OH 43026 (614)-876-1722 and from 1:00p.m-2:00p.m. WEDNESDAY, DECEMBER 14, 2016 where his Funeral Service will be held at 2:00p.m. WEDNESDAY.
