Randall Thomas Scalf of Galloway, Ohio, age 75, passed away at home on February 9, 2024 and was united with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. He is survived by his loving wife Tina of 52 years and children Shawn and Katrina. Leaving behind cousin Sandra Costar (Chris) of Columbus, Ohio and many cousins in Pike County, Kentucky, brother-in-law Walker Fields (Becky) of Inez, Kentucky and sister-in-law Joyce Lockwood (Eddie) of Warfield, Kentucky. Randy was preceded in death by his parents, Virgil Scalf and Kathleen Thevner.
Randy served in the United States Army for one tour within the Vietnam War as a Convoy Commander, an eighteen month tour in Kirghgons, Germany under General Patton's Third Armor Division. He served the Columbus Division of Police for 40 years and within that time served as Police Sergeant for 15 years. Following retirement, he worked as a Reserve Officer for the Columbus Division of Police for 5 years. He was an active member of Life in Christ Fellowship in West Jefferson, Ohio were he served as Head Usher and recently helped Tina in the nursery. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Police Lodge #9, loved watching Ohio State Football/basketball along with his beloved Cleveland Browns. He was a loving and devoted husband and father who served and loved his family dearly. He will be greatly missed by his family, friends and loved ones.
The family will receive friends from 11 AM - 12 PM on TUESDAY, February 13 at the Life in Christ Fellowship Church, 500 OH-142, West Jefferson, OH. The funeral service will begin at 12 PM noon Tuesday. Burial with honors will follow at the Alton Cemetery, Galloway, OH.
