Rhoda M. McIntyre, age 88, passed away Sunday, May 4, 2014 at Friendship Village of Dublin. Born August 3, 1925 in Mercer County, IL to the late Rollie and Betty Cooper. She received her BS in Biology from Monmouth College, IL and her Master's of Education from Ohio State University. She was a longtime educator in the Hilliard City School District, and retired from the State of Ohio as a consultant in the Title I Reading Program. Since her retirement, she traveled extensively and enjoyed spending time with her family. Preceded in death by parents; husband of 56 years, Russell T. McIntyre; daughter, Rhoda Ann Casto; and brother, Rollie. Survived by husband of 4 years, Berlie Schmidt; daughters, Nancy (Glenn) Hall and Peggy (Joe Florian) McIntyre, all of Dublin; grandchildren, Adam (Soraya) Hall and Leah (fiancé, Rob Osterfeld) Hall; great grandchildren, Aubrey and Jameson; brother, Raymond (Jan) Cooper; stepchildren, Brian (Karyn), Luanne (Brian) Kevin (Shannon), Kim (Kevin), and Christy (Heath); 10 step grandchildren and 1 step great-granddaughter; numerous nieces, nephews, beloved in-laws and friends. Friends may call Friday, May 9, 2014 from 5 to 7 p.m. and 1 hour prior to service at 11 a.m. on Saturday at the TIDD FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 5265 Norwich St. in Hilliard, OH. Rev. Janice Hilkerbaumer officiating. Interment Wesley Chapel Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, family suggests contributions to the Monmouth College Annual Fund at monmouthcollege.edu or the Alzheimer's Association at alz.org.
