Richard Townsend Gantt, age 80, born November 8, 1933. His soul winged its way to Heaven, Saturday, March 22, 2014 at Kobacker House after a long illness. He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Viola (Ball) Gantt; brothers, Leo, George, and Carl Gantt; sister, Lillian Hoffman. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Grace (Holdren) Gantt; special sister-in-law, Beryl (Holdren) Thaler and her children, Ty, Colean and Elena; many nieces, nephews and a host of friends. He retired from ABB after 28 years. He was an active member of Dublin Baptist Church, Hilliard Sr. Citizens Center, Franklin County Historical Society and the American Legion Hilliard Post #614. He served in the US Army. He was a kind and gentle man. Thanks to all caregivers at Kobacker House and OhioHealth Hospice. Friends may call Monday, March 24, 2014 at the TIDD FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 5265 Norwich St. in Hilliard from 4 to 7 p.m. Additional visitation will be Tuesday, March 25 from 10 a.m. until time of funeral service at 11 a.m. at the Dublin Baptist Church, 7195 Coffman Rd. in Dublin. Pastor Darrel Gabbard officiating. Interment Wesley Chapel Cemetery.
