Richard Mayer

Richard (Dick) Mayer, 77, of Dublin, passed away Sunday December 9, 2007 at his residence. Dick was born November 8, 1930 in Columbus, OH, son of the late Edgar and Della Mayer. He was a graduate of Hilliard High School in 1948, lifelong Hilliard resident and a Veteran of the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He was a retired Teamster and proud of it. Dick was an avid sports fan and enjoyed bowling, fishing, and playing golf with family and friends. In addition to his parents, Dick was preceded in death by his son, Richard Mayer Jr. and three brothers, William, Robert, and Edgar Jr. Survived by his devoted wife of 54 years, Dora; sons, Kenneth, Randall (Roseann) and Arch; daughter, Cindy (Bruce) Velt; grandchildren, Kenny Crosby Jr., Kristopher Crosby, Nicki Crosby, Crystal Mouhssine, Rocky Lester, Darrell Mayer, Sarah Mayer, Rachel Mayer, Nathan Mayer, Rebecca Velt, Doreen Velt, Kelsey Mayer, Jordyn Mayer and Danielle Mayer; 12 great-grandchildren; brother, Daniel; sisters, Rita (Ronnie) Love, Mary (Cecil, deceased) Jewell and Ruth Ann Stroble; numerous nieces and nephews. Friends may call Tuesday from 3-5pm at The Tidd Funeral Home 5265 Norwich St. Hilliard. A graveside service will be held Wednesday 11am at Obetz Cemetery.
