Richard McFarland

Richard McFarland, age 85, of Columbus, passed away November 19, 2024. He was a graduate of Hilliard High School, Class of 1957. He attended The Ohio State University and was a member of TKE fraternity. Richard was in the banking industry and Manager of Star Bank in Hilliard, where he finished his career. He was active in the Hilliard Chamber of Commerce and the Holly Fest. Richard was an avid golfer, Ohio State fan, movie buff and cat lover. Preceded in death by parents Dr. Richard and Mildred McFarland Rice, grandson Jon Williams and great granddaughter Lucy. Survived by loving wife of 63 years, Winnie McFarland, children Eric (Julie) McFarland, Kristen (Vic) and Matthew (Kimberly), brother Malcom (Mary Alice) McFarland, sister Joann Ongaro, grandchildren Brian (Lindsey) McFarland, Michael (Ciara) McFarland, Nate Newman, Alex (Kristen) McFarland, Zachary McFarland, Kayla McFarland, Samuel Richard Williams (Gabby), great grandchildren Kennedy, Ellie, Bennett, Henley, Riley, Zora and Karsyn, beloved pets Sylvester and Ava. Family will receive friends from 11am-1pm Tuesday, November 26, 2024 at the TIDD FUNERAL HOME, 5265 Norwich St., Hilliard, OH 43026; where a memorial service will follow at 1pm.
