Richard Robert "Bob" Soronen

Richard Robert “Bob” Soronen, age 90, passed at his Hilliard home on May 26, 2018 after a long battle with kidney failure.  He was the beloved husband and high school sweetheart of the late Nellie RoJeanne (nee Shattuck) Soronen of 70 years.  He is survived by his children Sher Louden and her husband William; Scott Soronen and his wife, Sandra; and Rita Soronen and her husband, Emmet Park; brothers Kenneth Soronen (Michigan) and Michael Soronen (Florida); eight grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren; and beloved care-giver Patience.  Bob, a WWII U.S. Navy veteran, was also preceded in death by his oldest son Robert Blaine Soronen.  Bob was a lifelong golf enthusiast, a voracious reader, and student of American history. His sense of humor and kind demeanor would brighten any room.  He loved and was so proud of his growing family and will be sorely missed for years to come.  The family will be holding a private celebration for their parents at a later date and in lieu of flowers, ask that donations be made in their honor to the charity of your choice.
