Rita I. Michalak

Rita I. Michalak passed away at age 98 on Tuesday, February 9, 2021.  Born in London, England to Walter and Nellie Marsh, she married Edward F. Michalak in 1944 in England and came to the United States on the Queen Mary in May, 1946.  They raised their family together in Wyandotte, Michigan and were long-time parishioners of St. Joseph Church in Wyandotte.  Rita worked at the Eye Clinic of Wyandotte for 44 years retiring at the age of 84.  She moved to the Hilliard, Ohio area in 2012 to be near her family.  Rita is survived by her dear sister Winifred, son David (Phyllis), daughter Stephanie (Lynn), granddaughters Rebecca (Shane) and Amy (David) and great-grandchildren Hunter, Rilynn and Dawson.  She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, her parents, brother Albert and sister Olive.  Funeral Services will be held privately for the family.  Burial will be at Michigan Memorial Park Cemetery, Flat Rock, Michigan.  If desired, memorials may be made to Rita’s favorite charity: St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 www.stjude.org.  The Tidd Family Funeral Home, 5265 Norwich St., Hilliard, OH 43026 (614)-876-1722, assisted the family.  Please visit www.tiddfuneralservice.com to share your favorite memories of Rita or to send your condolences to her family.
