Robert James Christian, age 69 of Mt. Sterling, passed away peacefully at his home, Monday evening, May 9, 2011. He was born December 2, 1941 in Warroad, Minnesota.
A 20 year veteran of the United States Air Force and retired from Civil Service.
He was preceded in death by parents, James and Ethel Christian; mother & father-in-law, Garnet and Eugene Arledge; sister & brother-in-law, Diane and Ed Sherrard; brother-in-law, Ron Arledge; nephew, Aaron Arledge.
He is survived by his wife, Judy; son, Robert (Sandy) Christian of San Antonio, Texas; daughters, Tammy (John) Schlake of Clarksville, Ohio and Tiffany (Jay) Tyree of Seaside, CA.; graddaughters Christina, Jennifer, & Kristen; grandsons Rob, Ian & Collin; 4 great grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
A Funeral service will be held 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 12, 2011 at the PORTER-TIDD FUNERAL HOME, Mt. Sterling. Rev. Dortha Ross officiating with the interment following in Pleasant Cemetery.
Family will receive friends one hour prior to time of service beginning at 12:00 Noon.
