Robert Dixon, Sr.

Robert Dixon, Sr., age 75, of Hilliard, passed away Friday, August 21, 2009. Retired from Berry/Holt Equipment Company and recently employed by W.W.Williams. Member of Hilliard Church of Christ and Hilliard American Legion Post 614. Korean War Veteran. Former Hilliard City Councilman for 20 years; where he served as President of Council for 12 years. Founder and chairman of the Senior Hall of Fame 1987. Former Auxiliary Hilliard Police officer and former Police officer for Perry Township. He served as Grand Marshall of the 4th of July parade 2006 and the City of Hilliard recognized the Bob Dixon Day August 22, 2005. He served on numerous city committees; where he chaired on many of those committees. Preceded in death by parents Ed and Blanche Dixon, brothers Buddy and Richard, and sisters Lillian and Catherine. Survived by son Robert J. (Danielle) Dixon, Jr. of Hilliard, daughters Kristi Dixon Brinkman of Hilliard and Karen (Michael) Kelley of Galloway, grandchildren Jake and Madison Dixon, Sarah and Brittany Brinkman, Amber (Daniel) Bell, Tiffany Zahner, Jackie (Billy) Lazenby, Courtney and Abigail Kelley, numerous great grandchildren, sister Hazel (Pete) Lambert of Jacksonville, FL., and long time companion the dog Rusty. Will be sadly missed by family and friends. Family will receive friends 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm Monday at the TIDD FUNERAL HOME, 5265 Norwich St., Hilliard, OH 43026; where funeral service will be held 11 am Tuesday with Danny Vanscoy officiating. Interment Wesley Chapel Cemetery.
