Robert Fannon Jr.

Robert D. Fannon Jr., age 86, of Hilliard, went home to be with his Lord and Savior, whom he served faithfully his entire life on Thursday, March 15, 2012. Member of Dublin Baptist Church and former 50 year member of Hillcrest Baptist Church where he was very active as a Sunday school teacher and involved in all aspects of the church. Past president of Columbus Baptist Association and very active with the Gideons. Graduated from Georgia Tech with an engineering degree, retiring from Battelle with 32 years of service where he had many patents and inventions. Served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during WWII, B-17 crew member serving with 452nd bomb group in England. Bob had a real zest for life and enjoyed many things, including traveling, sailing, photography, camping, and amateur radio, just to mention a few. He will be greatly missed by all those whose lives he touched. Preceded in death by wife, Frances R. Fannon (1998) and parents, Robert and Helen Fannon. Survived by children, Vikki (Larry) Eley, Robert D. (Ellen) Fannon III, David (Melissa) Fannon, Mike (Melissa) Fannon, and Marjorie (Craig) Reinwald; 16 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; many loving relatives and close friends. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may made to Gideon International P.O. Box 112 Grove City, OH 43123. Family will receive friends Monday from 2-4 & 6-8 PM at THE TIDD FUNERAL HOME 5265 Norwich St. Hilliard, OH 43026. A funeral service will be held 11 AM Tuesday at Dublin Baptist Church 7195 Coffman Rd. Dublin, OH 43017 with Pastor Darrell Gabbard officiating. Visitation will take place one hour prior to the time of service. Interment Wesley Chapel Cemetery.
