Robert Fiets

Robert Eugene Fiets, age 83, of Hilliard, born April 12, 1930 in Gilman Illinois, passed away at Riverside Hospital on July 25, 2013. Retired from IBM after 31 years of service. Veteran of the US Air Force. Statistician for the Hilliard Softball Leagues from 1967—2013. Preceded in death by wife of 46 years Mary “Lee” Fiets in 1997. Survived by sister Dorine Marlett of Gilman, IL, children Steve (Kathy) Fiets of Columbus, Roger Fiets of West Hills, CA and Jan (John) Olson of Springfield, VA, grandchildren Amanda Fiets of Hilliard, Adam (Arrianne) Fiets of Hilliard, Jennifer Olson of Cincinnati, OH and John Scott (Cindy) Olson of San Antonio, TX, great grandchildren Kennedy Fiets, Kalib and Tristin Olson. Family will receive friends 3-7 pm Sunday at the TIDD FUNERAL HOME, 5265 Norwich St., Hilliard, OH 43026; where a funeral service will follow at 7 pm. Private graveside service will take place at Wesley Chapel Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Pilot Dogs Inc., 625 West Town St., Columbus, OH 43215-4496.
