Robert Moorhead

MOORHEAD Robert Eugene Moorhead, 86, passed away December 23, 2007. He was a member of Hilliard Presbyterian Church, U.S. Navy veteran of WW II. Robert attended the University of Notre Dame where he was in the Civil Engineer program and was a graduate of The Ohio State University Civil Engineer program. He retired from Rockwell with 27 years service, then enjoyed his early retirement years raising Charolais cattle on his 300 acre farm near Junction City, Ohio until the early 1990s. He was a member of the Hilliard Senior Center and Hilliard Happiness Entertainers. He was also a member of the Central Ohio Hot Jazz Society and an avid fan of the Toll House Jazz Band. Preceded in death by parents Myron and Marjorie Moorhead, brother Dan Moorhead, sister Janice Hermann and former wife Leona Grom Moorhead. Survived by loving wife of 12 years, Dorothy Dorsey Moorhead; and her children, Gregory (Vicki) Dorsey; Cynthia (Barry) Cummins; grandchildren, Brian and Matthew Dorsey, Melinda (Greg) Dennis, Randy (Madison) Cummins; great-grandchildren, Henry and Molly Dennis; nieces and nephews, Carol (Bill) McCarty, Barbara (Ron) Reaoch, Rob (Linda) Hermann, Jim (Tammy) Hermann, Joy (Allen) Girardin; and many other loving nieces and nephews from the Grom and Dorsey families. Family will receive friends 3-7 p.m. Wednesday at the TIDD FUNERAL HOME, 5265 Norwich St., Hilliard, OH. Funeral service will be 11 a.m. at the Hilliard Presbyterian Church, 3600 Leap Rd., Hilliard, OH with Reverend Jim Browne officiating. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Church Building Fund or the Hilliard Happiness Entertainers. Burial at Pleasant Hill Cemetery, West Jefferson, Ohio.
