Robert Adrian Rehm, M.D., age 83, of Hilliard, passed away Thursday, March 15, 2012. He was born in Logansport, IN on November 2, 1928. Bob received his BA from Depauw University, Greencastle, Indiana. He graduated from the University of Cincinnati Medical School, Phi Beta Kappa and 1st in his class. Bob received his Master of Medical Science at The Ohio State University. He completed his Internship at The Ohio State University Hospitals 1954-1955. US Army Captain 1955-1957. He completed his Residency at The Ohio State University Hospitals in General Surgery 1957- 1959 and Urological Surgery 1959-1962. He was certified by the American Board of Urology and the American College of Surgeons. He was an excellent teacher and a Clinical Instructor of Urology at The Ohio State University College of Medicine, 1962-1984. He began his private practice by establishing Columbus Urology, Inc. where he worked until he retired in 1992. He practiced urology at Riverside Methodist Hospital. He was president of the Ohio Urological Society from 1979 to 1980. He was the national president of the Order of Symposiarchs of America for the year 1976
Preceded in death by his parents John E. Rehm and Josephine Bennett.
Survived by his wife and best friend, Sharon; children: Janet (Tim) Ryan, Susan (Joe)Gatto, Nancy (Scott) McCloskey; Scott Rehm and Mark Rehm. He is also survived by his 12 grandchildren: Melanie Ryan; Phillip, Peter, Elizabeth and Catherine Gatto; Cole and Bobby McCloskey, Jorja and Jack Rehm; Adrian, Austin and Brandon Rehm. Survived by Father-in-law Neil (Diane) Mills; Brothers-in-law: Mike (Carol) Mills, Mike Foe, and Jeff Mills and 1st cousin Ann Hansen.

A special thank you is extended to David Hanhilammi, RN, Jeannette Dobrich,LISW, Michelle Preston,HHA, Liz Germaine, volunteer, Karen Droll, RN and all of the Palliative Care Staff at Mount Carmel West Hospital. There are no words to express how much your help and support is appreciated. Bob always said that he could not have had a better doctor that Ian Wilson, M.D. who provided medical care and advice for the past 20 years. Thank you. To Sharon’s colleagues at Mount Carmel Hospice a great big thank you for all of your text messages and words of encouragement during the final days of Bob’s life.
We are planning a Gathering of friends and family to celebrate Bob’s life at TIDD FUNERAL HOME 5265 Norwich St. Hilliard, OH 43026 on Saturday March 24th from 2pm until 5pm. The children will share some of their best memories. The Honor Guard will arrive at about 4:30pm. It is a time of grief for us but also an opportunity to celebrate his life and remember that our time with him became a part of who we are and he will live on in our hearts and memories. Instead of flowers we are asking that donations be made to Mount Carmel Hospice.
