Robert (Bob) Ferrell Roller, 84, of Delaware, Ohio passed into the arms of his heavenly Father on November 25, 2015 after a long battle with MDS.
Bob was born October 1931 in Columbus, Ohio to Robert and Jeanette Roller. He graduated from West High School and attended Miami University of Ohio before serving in the U.S. Navy. After honorable discharge from the Navy, he earned a bachelor of science degree in Electrical Engineering from OSU and his master’s from the University of Pittsburgh.
During his career Bob worked for the Battelle Memorial Institute, Westinghouse, and Sensotec, Inc. He acquired several patents, including one for the automatic scoring system used in bowling alleys everywhere. After his retirement he served as Business Manager for Northwest Presbyterian Church in Dublin.
Bob had a personal relationship with his savior, Jesus Christ. He was a member of The Gideons International, a trainer for Evangelism Explosion, and served in leadership roles in several churches, including Fairview Presbyterian Church (Thomas, PA), Trinity Assembly of God (Columbus), Christ the King Lutheran (Columbus), Northwest Presbyterian (Dublin), and Berachah Church (Delaware).
Bob is survived by his wife of 62 years, Emmalou; daughter Lynette Pellarin of Wheeling, WV; son Robert and his wife Wanda of Upland, CA; and son Matthew of Columbus. He is also survived by 8 grandchildren: Zachary Pellarin of Matthews, NC; Brady Pellarin of Wheeling, WV; Cody Pellarin of Wheeling, WV; Nicole Roller of Marengo, OH; Mark Roller of Columbus; Laura Miller of Overland Park, KS, and Rachel Roller of Azusa, CA. He is also survived by 3 great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his sister Janet (Roller) Hudson of Delaware and his grandson, Tim Roller, of Logan, OH.
A memorial service celebrating Bob’s life will be held at 2PM, December 27, 2015 at Willow Brook at Delaware Run, 100 Delaware Crossing W, Delaware, OH. The Rev. Jonathan Smith of Berachah Church and the Rev. Dr. Robert Roller will officiate. A reception will follow the service. Funeral arrangements were handled by Tidd Funeral Home.
