Roger V Borders

Roger V. Borders, born June 16, 1932 in Ft. Branch, IN passed away Sunday, June 23, 2019. He married his high school sweetheart Mary Lu in 1952 and they were married 49 years until her passing in 2001. Roger served in Alaska as a member of the Army during the Korean Conflict. He attended Evansville University, graduating with a degree in Business Administration in 1959.He worked for Texaco, Inc. for 33 years and although transferred multiple times around the Midwest during his career, Roger always considered Southern Indiana his home. Roger was a Mason and Scottish Rite. He enjoyed playing golf, was an average player and enjoyed the social aspect more than his score. He had a dry wit, considered sarcasm high art and enjoyed nothing more than a strong belly laugh. Preceded in death by his parents John and Ada Borders, brother Robert, sisters Mary Lou and Dixie and wife Mary Lu. Survived by brother Kenneth, daughter Kathleen (William) Grayson, son John (Julie) Borders, daughter Sara (Jeff) Reed, grandchildren Meghan and Nicholas Borders, Rachel, Matthew, Tyler, Carson and Graham Reed. Family will receive friends Thursday 3:30 pm – 5:30 pm the TIDD FAMILY FUNERAL HOME WITH CREMATORY, 5265 Norwich St., Hilliard, OH 43026; where a Celebration of life service will follow at 5:30 pm.
