Ronald Lee Buchanan: January 9, 1949, to September 26, 2022.
Ronald Lee Buchanan was a dedicated Boy Scout, baptized at Lincoln Baptist Church and loved God. In 1967, Ronald graduate from Peasant View High School in Grove City, Ohio. After graduation, Ronald entered basic training with the United States Navy, ultimately serving as a parachute rigger on aircraft carriers. His naval service took him to various posts, including Naples, Italy, and the Naval Air Weapons Station at China Lake, California. In 1970, Ronald drove across the United States with one of his younger brother Duane Buchanan, who had recently returned from service in Vietnam. Later, Ronald married Nancy Carr. Ronald and Nancy were close friends with Lisa Howells, who cared for Ronald after Nancy passed. Although he traveled, Ronald was always a Columbus boy at heart who never forgot his roots. He was an avid motorcyclist and catch-and-release fisher. He had an uncanny ability to fix sewing machines by hand. Ronald was preceded in death by his wife, Nancy; father, John Buchanan; mother, Dorothy Buchanan (née Unroe); and brother Michael Buchanan. He is survived by his brothers Duane Buchanan (Gloria Price) and Orin W. Roberts, Jr., sister Laura Buchanan Whittington (John Whittington), and many family members and friends. A Celebration of Life gathering will start at 1 pm Saturday, November 5, 2022 with Navy Honors at 2 pm at the TIDD FUNERAL HOME, 5265 Norwich St., Hilliard, OH 43026.
