Ronald L. Schoonover, age 77, of Dublin, died peacefully the evening of Sunday, April 2, 2017 at his home. He was born October 26, 1939 in Columbus, OH to the late LeRoy and Isabelle (Coulter) Schoonover. He is survived by his wife of 22 years, Charlene; daughter, Barbara Holt; son, Robert (Lora) Schoonover; sister, Ann (Ron) McCullough; aunt, Ladonna Sampson; stepdaughter, Kelly (Spence) Fisher; grandchildren, Danielle Bardsley, Tony Wiles, Madelynn and Mason Schoonover; step-grandchildren, Alex and Andrew Fisher; niece, Sarah (Randy) Green; and 2 great grandchildren. Ron graduated from Hilliard High School in 1957 and graduated from The Ohio State University in 1961. He was a member in the U.S. Army Reserve. Ron retired after 31 years of service with Westinghouse Electrolux. He was an avid fisherman and enjoyed many vacation years at Stony Lake, MI with friends, family, and beloved dogs, Buddy and Montey. Ron loved the Ohio State Buckeyes and always enjoyed watching the Best Damn Band In The Land. Cooking was one of his favorite pastimes. He was preceded in death by his parents and nephew, Michael McCullough. A gathering of family and friends will be held at the TIDD FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 5265 Norwich St. in Hilliard, OH from 10 a.m. until time of memorial service at 11 a.m. on Monday, April 10, 2017 with Pastor Phil Miller officiating. Procession and inurnment to immediately follow at Sunset Cemetery in Galloway, OH. In lieu of flowers, memorail contributions may be made to Columbus Cocker Rescue, P.O.
