NANCE Master Sergeant Ronnie F. Nance, age 74 of Grove City, died Thursday, April 1, 2010 in Doctors West Hospital in Columbus. He was born Nov. 11, 1935 in Derby, Ohio.
During his military career he served in the US Army in both Korea and Viet Nam having received a Bronze Star during his 21 years of service; lifetime member of Harrisburg VFW; he was an avid fan of the Atlanta Braves Baseball team; an Ohio State football fan; and loved fishing.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Earl and Rebecca Funk Nance; sister, Bernadine Williams; brothers Gene Nance, Jack Nance, Raymond Nance and Bill Hinton.
He is survived by his loving wife, Jonda; children Ronald Nance, Paul (Chrissy) Hill, Tina (Brad) Walker, and Ronna (Sam) Norman; grandchildren and great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews; siblings Sally Terry, Sandra Black, Mary Hatley, Ruthie Eubanks, Judy Howson, Betty Phillips, Donald Johnson, and Marvin Nance.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to Doctors West medical staff in ICU and ICU Step down for all their care and concern.
A Funeral service will be held 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday, April 6, 2010 at the PORTER-TIDD FUNERAL HOME, Mt. Sterling. Pastor Wayne Stuntz officiating with the burial following in Pleasant Cemetery. The Circleville Amvets Post #2256 will perform a military service at the grave site.
A Visitation will be held Monday, April 5, 2010 from 4 – 8 p.m.
