Rose Ann Huffman

Rose Ann Huffman (West), aka, “Rosie” passed away Thursday, February 25, 2010. She now knows the joy of being with her heavenly Father, but is sorely missed by all her family and friends. Rosie was a special person who loved life, her children, grandchildren, and friends. She was insightful and many people throughout the years sought her advice. During the early years of raising a family she thoroughly enjoyed the church work she did in Camden, SC and Lubbock, TX. A special time for her was also assisting college students at Texas Tech. After moving back to Columbus and raising her children, Rosie worked at Northwest Title and it evolved into a position that she loved. Preceded in death by parents Leo and Virginia West and her brother Jack West. Rosie is survived by her husband, Bill, of nearly 50 years (August 27, 1960), daughters Joanna (Greg) Portier, Virginia Huffman, grandchildren Alicia, Katie, Maya, and Cami, four brothers-in-law, a three sisters-in-law, numerous nieces, nephews, and other loving relatives and friends. A memorial mass will be held at St. Margaret of Cortona Church, 1600 N. Hague Ave., Columbus, on Monday, March 1, 2010, at 10:00 am. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions be made to St. Margaret's or to St. Jude Children's Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
