Ruth Bashaw

Mary Ruth Bashaw, 95, of Hilliard Ohio, peacefully passed away on August 20, 2024.

Ruth was born on December 30, 1928, to Hanson and Edith Wills. She grew up in Mt. Sterling, Kentucky, before moving to Hilliard, Ohio.

Ruth is preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Bashaw, and her brother Donald Wills. 

She is survived by her brother Robert Wills(Jackie) ; sister Linda Wells; son Stephen(Betty) and their 4 children- Michael, Andrew(Meaghan), Leah and Nathan; daughter Lisa(Bruce) and her children- Bethany(Luke) and Katie(Mitch); great grandsons, Brantley and August.

Ruth worked as a legal secretary in Hilliard and Dublin for over 25 years, before retiring. She loved spending time with her children, grandchildren, family and friends. Traveling, cooking, playing games, reading and serving at church were many of her favorite activities.

Ruth was a faithful Christian, and was a founding member of Meadow Park Church, in Columbus.

She served faithfully for many years, at her church, by attending Bible studies, leading the youth group, serving in the women’s missionary group, greeting church goer’s as they arrived and helping with Vacation Bible School.

Ruth loved being a wife, mother, grandmother, aunt and friend. She will be missed by all who knew her.

Family will receive friends from 9:30a.m.-10:30a.m. SATURDAY, AUGUST 31, 2024 at the TIDD FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 5265 Norwich Street, Hilliard, OH 43026 where her Funeral Service will follow the visitation and begin at 10:30a.m. SATURDAY with Pastor Vickie Doyle, officiating.  Burial will follow the service at Wesley Chapel Cemetery.
