Ruth Hamm

Ruth Delores (Mullen) Hamm, age 85, of Hilliard, Ohio took the final step into heaven on May 6, 2018.  Ruth was born in Portsmouth, Ohio - daughter of Hattie and Ray Mullen. She loved growing up in the country - wildflowers, dirt roads, family and kind neighbors. Ruth met (on a blind date) and married the love of her life, Harold nearly 68 years ago. The couple moved to Columbus and settled in Hilliard in the early 1950’s, where they raised their four dear children: Greg, Gary, Bret and Amy. Ruth was a devoted and loving mother and wife. She was very proud of her family and was excited to become a mother-in-law to her sons wives (Brenda, Mary and Sherry), grandma to her 8 grandchildren and great grandma to her 7 great grandchildren. Ruth loved holidays and family get-togethers; as any chance to spend time with and support her family was important to her. She also loved springtime flowers, the clean smell after the rain, the sound of singing birds, fresh veggies from the garden and sharing fond memories about her childhood (Portsmouth, Duck Run, her brothers, sisters and parents) Ruth lived a modest and simple life but was rich beyond measure with a deep love she carried for her family.  She was beautiful, brave, strong and gracious - even in her final days. Family and friends will gather at the Radiant Life Church, 7100 Post Rd, Dublin, OH 43016 on Wednesday, May 9, 2018  with visitation from 10 am-11am immediately followed by a funeral service at 11 am. Interment will follow at Alton Cemetery, Galloway, OH.  In lieu of flowers, please choose to donate in her memory to the OhioHealth Hospice program that lovingly supported her in her final moments on earth.
