Ruth Lightfoot

Ruth A. Lightfoot was born Anna Ruth Meyers in Uniontown, PA on April 18, 1927, and left us on March 17, 2010, at the age of 82. On March 3, 2010, mom received 3rd burns on her torso in a freak accident in her kitchen. Ruth and her sister, Thelma, are the last of a dozen siblings. Ruth was preceded in death by her loving husband, Warden E. Lightfoot (December 19, 1991). Mom will be remembered for her ability to “rebound” whether it be in sickness or adversity and for being a strong, independent woman. Mom was still bowling on a league until her accident and loved to watch football and basketball. Although she moved to Kingsport, Tenn. in August, 2009, she said she was still a Buckeye! Mom is survived by her sister, Thelma Stafford, of Hilliard, Ohio, Medrith Baugh, sister-in-law, of Russellville, KY., sisters-in-law Ruth Williams and Betty Meyers, both of Ohio; and her beloved Yorkie-poo dog, Penny. Also, surviving are her three grown children: Betty Lightfoot and her husband, Art Sanchez of CA; Linda Price, son-in-law, Duane, grandson, Matthew Price and grand daughter-in-law, Dixie Price, from Tenn.; and Gary Lightfoot, daughter-in-law, Kathy; and 2 granddaughters Stacey Raymond, her husband Joel, and great grandson, Grady; and Kelly Lightfoot and her fiancé, Jim Seikel, from Ohio.
